The Lighthouse Children’s Home is seeking qualified applicants to serve in our on-campus school, the Lighthouse Christian Academy! If you have a heart for empowering children and a calling to serve God through education, we want to hear from you!
Our teachers and teachers’ aids provide direct care and instruction to the young ladies in our program. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a growing ministry and help young people have a second chance in life.
Using A.C.E. curriculum and an individualized approach, our school staff help each young lady to fill skill gaps and make progress in her education, with the ultimate aim of a high school diploma in line with the credit requirements published by the state of Florida.
School staff responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the classroom according to LCA policies
- Providing tutoring and instruction
- Assessing students’ academic and personal development
- Maintaining inventory
- Tracking graduation progress
- Organizing the LCA’s annual Awards Banquet and Graduation
We strive to provide a thorough education with a Biblical worldview for the children in our care, many of whom have previously struggled in school and require thoughtful academic support. For that reason, we are seeking applicants who are spiritually and emotionally strong, yet compassionate, with a genuine love for the Lord and for at-risk teens.
Finally, school staff must have prior experience working with children/youth, must pass both state and federal background checks, and must have the proper qualifications and/or experience (depending on the position applied for).
The Lighthouse Children’s Home offers a number of benefits, including:
- Competitive Pay
- Paid Time Off
- Paid Holidays
- Vacation Time
- Health Insurance
