How long does the process take?
Once submitted, we typically contact donors within 1–2 business days to begin coordinating the next steps.
How does the tax deduction work?
Lighthouse Children’s Home is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. After your vehicle is processed, you will receive the appropriate documentation for tax purposes in accordance with IRS guidelines.
The deductible amount is determined based on the vehicle’s sale value or fair market value as allowed by current IRS regulations.
We encourage donors to consult their tax professional with specific questions regarding deductions.
How is the value of the tax deduction determined?
Lighthouse Children’s Home is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; however, we do not determine or assign the value of any tax deduction.
Under current IRS regulations, the deductible amount is generally based on the vehicle’s gross sale price if the vehicle is sold, or fair market value in certain qualifying circumstances.
We provide the required written acknowledgment and documentation for your records, but we encourage donors to consult a qualified tax professional regarding questions specific to their situation.
