"Accreditation and Affiliation"

The Lighthouse Children's Home is accredited through and affiliated with The Florida Association of Christian Child Caring Agencies, Inc. (FACCCA). There are more than 30 accredited member programs with FACCCA providing residential care for approximately 1500 children per year. This represents a saving to taxpayers of millions of dollars annually.

FACCCA is a voluntary peer accrediting association of Christian children’s ministries. It was created in 1982 as a 501-C3 not-for-profit organization. The main purpose of FACCCA is to provide accreditation of faith-based children’s residential and foster programs, which choose to register with the state of Florida in lieu of becoming state licensed. This religious exemption from licensing was created in 1984 by Florida Statute 409.176.
